Air Sentry R-Series Desiccant Breathers: Features & Model Guide

Hydraulic tanks and reservoirs on mobile equipment breathe constantly as fluid levels and temperatures change, and the air they pull in is often full of dust, dirt, and moisture. That contamination wears out pumps, valves, and cylinders and leads to costly downtime. R-Series breathers replace standard breather caps and filter incoming air before it reaches your hydraulic fluid.
Unlike breathers designed for stationary equipment, the R-Series is built to stand up to constant vibration in off-road, construction, and farm applications.
Key Features
- Designed for high-vibration, mobile applications where standard breathers can loosen or fail.
- Rugged steel pipe threads for secure mounting in place of standard breather caps.
- Reusable metal base. When the desiccant is spent, you replace only the cartridge, not the entire breather.
- Color-changing silica gel: the gold silica gel turns dark green as it adsorbs moisture, showing at a glance when it's time for a new cartridge.

R-Series Model Guide
All R-Series breathers share a 5.25" diameter. Choose your model by height (which determines desiccant volume) and connection size:
- R-111: 5.25" x 6", [connection size]
- R-101: 5.25" x 6.5", 1" MNPT
- R-121: 5.25" x 6.5", 2" MNPT
- R-102: 5.25" x 9.5", 1" MNPT
- R-122: 5.25" x 9.5", 2" MNPT
- R-115: 5.25" x 12", 1-1/2" MNPT
- R-123: 5.25" x 12", 2" MNPT
Taller breathers hold more desiccant, so they last longer between cartridge changes. They're a good choice for large hydraulic reservoirs, humid climates, or equipment that runs long shifts.
When to Replace the Cartridge
Check the silica gel regularly. Once it has changed from gold to dark green, it has reached its moisture capacity. Install a new replacement cartridge on the reusable base to keep your equipment protected.
